Students Across Divisions Celebrate Halloween, Día de los Muertos and La Toussaint

The end of last week culminated in multiple events to celebrate Halloween and honor different cultural events, Día de los Muertos and La Toussaint.

Hilbert Center and Lower School students participated in their respective Halloween parades, a beloved Park Tudor tradition.

Middle and Upper School Spanish students held celebrations in recognition of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). They created and shared ofrendas with other students, faculty, staff and parent visitors. Ofrendas are tables designed to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. They are decorated with photos, favorite foods, candles, flowers (especially marigolds), and personal items that celebrate the lives of those being remembered.

Throughout the day, guests were able to view the students' ofrendas and listen as students proudly shared stories and reflections about their displays. Spanish-speaking visitors enriched the experience by engaging in meaningful conversations, encouraging students to express themselves in their language of study.

The event was a beautiful tribute to a meaningful tradition and provided a wonderful opportunity for our school community to connect. Middle School Spanish Teachers Señora Diaz and Señora Razzino extend their gratitude to everyone who attended, helping to create a truly memorable and supportive experience for our students. Enjoy a selection of photos below, capturing the heart and spirit of our Día de los Muertos celebration.

For La Toussaint (All Saints Day), Upper School French students recreated tombs from the famous cemetery, Père Lachaise. Students "visited" the graveyard, as the French do on la Toussaint, to learn more about the people buried there.
